IBNE announces leadership changes with Matt Appleton as CEO & William Andrews as CSO

Infra Balance New Energy (IBNE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Appleton as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. This decision marks a pivotal moment in IBNE’s growth journey, bringing an enhanced focus on strategic partnerships and long-term expansion within the renewable energy sector.
Since joining IBNE in September 2023 as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Matt has demonstrated significant leadership and expertise. With over 20 years of experience in the European private equity industry, Matt was previously a Partner at DH Private Equity Partners (formerly Doughty Hanson), where he managed high-profile investments across industries in both the UK and Europe, including roles with the Moeller Group, Zobele, and TMF Group. A Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualified in 2000 with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Matt’s experience spans both London and Frankfurt, reinforcing his strong financial and operational expertise. Before IBNE, he served as Group CFO at a global regulatory services provider headquartered in Switzerland, guiding them through complex financial landscapes.
William Andrews, who founded IBNE in 2021 and has served as its CEO since inception, will transition to the role of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). William’s experience in managing diverse teams in capital-intensive industries is extensive, with over 23 years leading large-scale projects within the UK energy sector. His background includes founding and leading an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company that delivered renewable heating, wind, and solar projects nationwide. In his new role as CSO, William will oversee strategic partnerships and project development, driving forward IBNE’s mission to create sustainable energy solutions for the future.
This leadership transition aligns with IBNE’s ambition to become a leading innovator in renewable energy storage and strategic energy infrastructure, with Matt Appleton and William Andrews steering the company’s growth in their respective roles.
